Where it all began
Ezolimo Organics is the culmination of decades of dedication to sustainable agriculture, a story rooted in the pioneering work of Dr. Strauss Ferreira, and his passion, rooted in a continuous belief in biological farming.
Dr. Strauss Ferreira’s journey began in the early 1980s. As a senior plant pathologist at Infruitec Nietvoorbij Agricultural Research facility in Stellenbosch. He specialised in the biological control of plant diseases, including Botrytis and Crown Gall. His research earned him international recognition, and he was invited to consult with nurserymen in California’s Napa Valley and Australia for his groundbreaking work on the “Black Goo” fungi during the 1990’s
Driven by his passion for biological agriculture, Dr. Ferreira became not only a well-known researcher, but also trusted advisor to South African producers, offering valuable insights and solutions for a wide range of crop diseases. This enduring commitment led him to establish Agro-Organics in 2000. There his passion for formulating and testing organic pest control products eventually gave birth to a successful range of low- and no-residue pesticides and biostimulants. These include well-known products like Exterminator, Bio-Neem, and various others including Trichoderma–based products.
After Agro-Organics was sold in 2022, Dr. Ferreira and his son, Jacques, co-founded Ezolimo Organics. Together, they continue their search for innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable crop solutions, building on a solid foundation of experience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the future of farming.
